What do you expect to happen next?
My humble take. Historically, National Party and CCP were created by America a century ago to weaken Japan. The first pick was NP and the backup was CCP. This design worked for almost a century. However, CCP tried to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with America. America triggered the detonator embedded in China.
What's more, America has started removing WGIP, then Japan thought we could rebuild the relationships with America, and fully sided with America. Then, CCP as the weapon against Japan is no use anymore.
China has been relentlessly discarded like the souvenir dumped in front of the Air Force One.
See the order of currency in international trading. That goes; USD, EUR, JPY, GBP, and the 5th is CHY. China is allegedly the 2nd largest economy, but 5th currency. Why? Because it's for protecting the world economy when China demolishes.
Only if they didn't freeride nor exacerbate WGPI which deadly disrespected Japan, and just clearly say "thank you" to the Japan's ODA, Japan would have sided on China. Or maybe not anyway. 覆水难收
